Hello, my name is Anna Smith. I am a libero from Charleston, SC that plays Division I Volleyball for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, a content creator and a founding board member of the Sport Venture Group Foundation.
I attended Oceanside Collegiate Academy (class of ’23) where I began my high school journey as a varsity player my freshman year, we played in four consecutive state finals winning in 2021 and 2022 and I was the first Division I committed player in the history of the program.
I also played club for Carolina Rogue in Columbia, SC from ages 14-17 where we finished 63rd in the nation my final season there in 2022 and Rio Volleyball Club in Atlanta, GA in 2023 as an 18 earning a bid to USA Volleyball Nationals. Accolades from my youth can be found in the site menu to the left.
This site will keep you apprised of not only my volleyball and professional career as well, but also hopefully be helpful to others on a similar journey to understand the level of commitment and work it takes to get to the next level.
COASTAL CAROLINA CHANTICLEERS
After a long recruiting process of Division I schools at every level, I decided to commit to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers due to several factors including, but not limited to, a world class head coach in Jozsef Forman from Hungary, a history of conference success and NCAA tournament appearances, a great blend of international and a top freshman recruiting class with experience playing in USA Volleyball Open level of competition, a major that was a great fit for my professional career and a campus in a warm climate, close to the coast and home!
